No complaints whatsoever, overall beautiful old place.
Beautiful old building, exceptionally nice location really close to Beppu station, transport and nearby shops, transport and shoreside stroll. Also, very close to the beach for a leisurely swim or bike ride along the coast.

I had a great stay at this traditional Japanese ryokan. the rooms were clean and well taken care of, and the glass encased sitting area facing the garden was lovely. the onsen, both indoor and outdoor, was a highlight of the stay. the breakfast, served in a high ceilinged and airy dining room, was a fantastic experience. the staff were warm, friendly, and provided excellent service. It was a pleasant traditional ryokan experience.
Felt right at home, no reason to complain.

I loved how conveniently located this hotel was, just a short walk from the city center. The charming little alley it's tucked away in gives it a nice sense of privacy. The staff were incredibly attentive and made sure all our needs were met, even going so far as to accommodate special requests. The rooms themselves were beautifully decorated in traditional Japanese style, and I particularly enjoyed sitting in the lovely glass encased sitting area facing their garden. Breakfast each morning was a delight, with a selection of delicious items and a nice cup of tea to start the day.
No complaints, everything was just perfect.

The traditional Japanese house was a unique experience. Bicycles were available to explore the city. Breakfast was delicious and filling. The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance to many attractions and supermarkets.
The onsen had many mosquitoes that made it hard to relax. The mattress in the room was thin and not very comfortable.
